Taryn Williams is a passionate criminal defense attorney at Lessem, Newstat & Tooson, LLP, where she advocates fiercely for clients facing some of life’s most challenging moments.

Her interest in law sparked in childhood, watching Judge Judy alongside her grandmother and marveling at how sharp facts, smart strategy, and bold advocacy could turn the tide in a case. That early fascination grew into a calling, and by law school, Taryn knew criminal law was her path. She chose defense work specifically because she believes in working within the system to ensure fairness, dignity, and meaningful representation, particularly when the criminal legal system disproportionately harms underrepresented communities, people of color, and those grappling with mental health issues. For Taryn, effective representation means delivering a real voice to every person she serves.

A California native raised in Rancho Cucamonga, Taryn earned her undergraduate degree in Riverside and her law degree in San Diego.
